Make the catalog useful
- Use a specific title and provide honest make, model, year, and part-number information.
- Clearly distinguish verified fitment from an untested design or best estimate.
- Include practical print settings, material guidance, known limitations, and installation notes.
- Use images and thumbnails that accurately represent the uploaded part.
- Correct material errors when another member provides credible fitment evidence.
Upload only what you may share
Upload only files you created or have permission to distribute. Preserve the creator's name, source, license, notices, and ShareAlike terms where required. Do not remove watermarks or falsely claim authorship.
Brand names and OEM references may be used factually to explain compatibility. Do not imply endorsement or affiliation with a vehicle manufacturer.
Respect license boundaries
A listing must use license terms that match the uploader's rights. A file marked NonCommercial may appear in search beside other files, but STLParts will not charge for access to that file, sell physical prints of it, bundle it with paid access, accept commissions tied to it, or offer paid placement for it.
Commercial use or paid services are allowed only when the actual license and creator authorization permit them.
Do not misrepresent safety
Never claim that a part is tested, certified, load-rated, or road-safe without evidence. Identify safety-critical applications and known failure modes. Do not encourage bypassing vehicle safety, emissions, theft-prevention, or regulatory systems.
Downloaders must independently verify material, orientation, dimensions, fitment, installation, and suitability. A community listing is not an OEM approval or engineering certification.
Treat people like collaborators
- No targeted harassment, threats, hate, dehumanizing abuse, or encouragement of self-harm.
- No doxxing, sexual exploitation, impersonation, or publication of private information.
- Critique fitment, geometry, documentation, and testing rather than attacking the creator.
- No spam, repetitive promotion, engagement manipulation, or misleading links.
No malicious files or behavior
Do not upload malware, deceptive archives, zip bombs, unrelated executables, corrupted files intended to exhaust resources, or content designed to exploit a browser, slicer, printer, server, or another member. Do not probe, bypass, or interfere with site security or moderation controls.
Moderation and enforcement
New uploads begin as pending. Moderators may relabel, reject, restrict, or remove content; hide comments; preserve evidence; limit features; or suspend accounts based on severity, context, and history. Serious safety, security, or rights violations may result in immediate removal or suspension.
Report and appeal
Use a listing's report control for stolen, unsafe, misleading, or improperly licensed files. For copyright claims, follow the DMCA Notice.
Moderation questions or appeals may be sent to [email protected]. Include the listing URL, relevant facts, and why the decision should be reconsidered.
Keep comments readable
Comments must be plain-text discussion relevant to the part. HTML, executable content, link spam, control characters, and ASCII-art blocks are not accepted. Some language may be held for moderator review based on context rather than automatically published.
